At The Bank of England Museum you will learn the history of the Bank of England from its foundation by Royal Charter in 1694 to its role today as the United Kingdom’s central bank. You can view unique displays of coins, banknote, books, documents, pictures, furniture and in the Rotunda area you can handle a real gold bar. It was opened in 1988 and is located on the eastern side of the Bank of England. Open weekdays only.
