Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens

Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in central London. It merges into Kensington Gardens where you will find the Diana Memorial Playground which is great for children (see following post). Hyde Park hosts many different events such as concerts and festivals. It is a lovely park to visit, especially on a sunny day when you can take a stroll and have a picnic. While visiting Hyde Park you can also visit the Serpentine Gallery which is located in the park. Or you can swim in the Serpentine Lido which is the longest lido in London.

There are five Underground stations within easy walking distance:
Hyde Park Corner and Knightsbridge (Piccadilly Line), Marble Arch, Queensway and Lancaster Gate (Central Line)
