Bed and breakfast accommodation in Archway, north London
It is said that when Dick Whittington arrived at Archway he heard the Bow Bells ringing and turned back to London. Hence the name of the local hospital on Highgate Hill called the Whittington Hospital and a statue of Dicken’s cat stands in front of it. Highgate cemetery has many famous people buried there and many impressive tombstones, including that of Karl Marx. Waterlow Park is a delightful park in front of which stands Lauderdale House where concerts are held and art exhibitions take place. This was the love nest of Charles II, and was renovated in Victorian times. Here you can buy delicious home-made meals and enjoy the gardens and a wonderful aviary.
North London suburb with a lively mix of quiet streets, interesting shops, cafés and restaurants. Close to pretty Highgate village with its square where fairs and markets are held
Continue your walk up the hill into Highgate village which has a typical English village atmosphere. Just a short walk from here is the majestic Kenwood House with its historic landscaped park with beautifully sloping lawns and lakes and where open-air concerts are held in the summer.
Nearest tube station
- Archway (Northern Line) zone 2

Sept 2022 – Annabel was such a gracious hostess: friendly, helpful, yet also respected my privacy. The twin room was very clean, comfy, and adjacent to a very nice bathroom with shower (shared). This was ideal for me. Kitchen was available for me keep a few things in the refrigerator and she provided delicious breads along with jam, butter, juice, water, and fruit. TV in my room, WiFi, and the room also had an electric kettle with tea/coffee selection. Lovely home in every way. I had a very comfortable bed, great rooftop view, easy walk to the underground station. Northern line on the tube took me easily to places I wanted to visit in London. I spent a delightful 6 nights here in Sept 2022, and I do warmly recommend this bed & breakfast home. Jackie R.

I highly recommend to stay with Annabel in Archway!!
My teenage daugther and I stayed for 4 days, as a gift from my husband, and we both felt at home from the start.
There is a homey, welcoming and warm atmosphere, and the hostess is helpful and very, very sweet.
The room is large, the beds are great, and the breakfast is great.
We enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood after an active day around London, just like the local area is really nice too.
All in all a place one wants to come back to!

First of all the great host and added the phantastic view across London from the roof terrace made the
stay here unforgettable.
Our room was very nice. For having breakfast the host offered: simply go to the kitchen and help
yourself. We found a big variety of things to choose from.
Altogether this stay was an easy-going kind of stay.
My son and I stayed here for 6 nights. When we had to leave, both, we said it´s a home to come back
again. Thanks a lot , dear Annabel.

Marina Giannetti – :
We really enjoyed our stay in b&b.
Mrs. Annabel is very nice and kind, the rooms are clean and confortable as the bathroom.
The breakfast is very good and the view from the living room is wonderful.
The location is very good: the area is very quiet and nice, the tube station is in Zone 2 (the cheapest one) in a very short walking distance and line (the Northern) is one of the best to get to all the main places of London.
But, first of all, we really loved the family atmosphere and Annabel’s discretion and kindness.

Frank Lampen – :
Booked my parents into the twin room, as they are elderly and its next door to the shared bathroom. They raved about the views from the panoramic roof terrace and said their room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, continental style (other cold options available too) and self serve. Convenient location and quiet. They would definitely return. The host is lovely. Frank, 23.10.14

We have to say that our stay at London was a pleasure and the hostess was very helpful. Especially the view in the morning from the breakfast balcony to the city skyline is worth the money. We had also good weather at London, so it was a perfect holiday. Kilian M, Germany, 11.09.14

This was a great place to stay for the amount I paid. Located in a pleasant suburb about 10 mins walk from a good tube service, so very convenient for getting into ‘town’. Bus service also very good, although I prefer the tube. Good shopping and eating with walking distance at either Highgate or Crouch End, as well as parks and Highgate Cemetery. The hostess was an excellent hostess; very easy-going with plenty of local knowledge. The room itself was comfortable – including the bed – very important! Plenty of room for clothes to hang. Great views across London from the room and property’s own terrace garden. Breakfast was ‘help yourself’ continental style. Kettle in room for hot drinks if required. I would definitely stay there again. John F, England, 15.08.14
Patrick Souty – :
Our stay was fantastic: nice welcome from the host, comfortable room, beautiful view of the whole London, sunny and hot weather all week long. We travelled a lot of miles across London by bus and on foot. The access to the centre of London was very convenient from Archway, just a few minutes away from the house. I will come back for sure at the next opportunity. Patrick S, France, 29.07.14
