This is a delightful museum which takes you through the last 400 years to the present day. You will see how homes, particularly in London, have changed. The middle classes and their living rooms are the focus of the museum and the changes in style, fashion and taste are well chronicled. Great for children and enjoyed by parents. The museum is in elegant 18th-century almshouses surrounded by pretty gardens. There is also an  award-winning walled herb garden and various period gardens which reflect the changing style of town gardens (April-October)
